We are only a short trip to the ferry ports of Ramsgate, Folkstone, Dover & the Channel Tunnel, approximately 6 miles from the historical city of Canterbury and only 70 miles south east of London.
Local amenities can be found a short distance away in Herne Village and Herne Bay offers the seaside, amusements, supermarkets and many pubs, bars and restaurants.
Things to do;
Walking & Cycling
There are many local walks & cycle paths you can take in the surrounding areas.
We are a very dark campsite in the evenings with the only lights being from the toilet blocks. A clear sky at night offers the ideal opportunity to lie down and do some star gazing and maybe spot a shooting star or two!
There are plenty of places to visit close by such as the historic city of Canterbury including Canterbury Cathedral, River tours, Leeds Castle, White Cliffs of Dover and much more.
If you get the chance you will only be approximately 4 miles from the seaside town of Whitstable, where you will find the Crab and Winkle. This is now a public footpath between Whistable & Canterbury where you can walk or cycle between the two. This was the first ever passenger railway and has the oldest ever railway bridge. Why not bring your passport and have a day trip to France?
Bars and Restaurants
There are a number of lovely bars and restaurants in Herne Bay and surrounding arears and we would be more than happy to recommend some to you.
